| Lakewood - mountain view homes |
Immediately adjacent to the western edge of Denver but stretching to the foothills,
Lakewood is the fourth largest city in Colorado. The community known today as Lakewood originally grew as a loose collection of rural farmsteads and post-World War II subdivisions. When Lakewood incorporated as a city in 1969 with 92,000 people, it earned the challenging distinction of being the largest "instant city" in America. Today, Lakewood has matured into a unified community of 145,000 people served by one of the highest ratios of parks and recreational facilities per person in the United States.
Enjoying four full seasons, Lakewood has beautiful weather all year round. The beauty of wild flowers in the springtime, lush parks in the summer, the stunning colors of autumn and the bounty of snow sports during winter. In addition, Lakewood is home to a multitude of talented artists, thriving cultural and heritage organizations, and community celebrations.
